The White House has just released one of the best net-based community involvement programs I have ever seen. Released in concert with ideascale.com, Open Government Dialogue serves as a forum for the average American citizen (or anyone else, for that matter) to get up on the soapbox in order to be heard on ANY issues currently facing American government. A user will make a login, and is then given the options to either post a new idea for brainstorming, or to vote in a yes/no style on whether or not certain issues merits further discussion. Users have already posted a plethora of issues ranging from extremely pressing to blatantly trivial.
After an issue has been posted and voted upon, a small forum is started below for discussion of the topic.
This site has definitely caught the attention of the 18-35 American demographic, as is apparent from most of the more popular issues, (ie. pot decriminalization) but I hope that as time goes on, this site will evolve into an extremely accessable way for any citizen of the world to be heard by the American government.
Apparently, after tomorrow, the website will go into the next "Discussion Phase," where the most popular issues will be examined in further detail. The brainstorming will remain open until June 19th, when all of the information will be collected and presented on the main page.
I think this will serve as an excellent venue for average American citizens to voice their opinions about issues in the White House, and will hopefully provide some transparency where it is so desperately needed.

Barack Obama's Birth Certificate.

In the end, what does a piece of paper mean? A man's eligibility for a position of power is determined by his own morals and capacity for critical thought. I refuse to let this become an issue, and will continue to judge the man critically, on his actions, NOT on whether or not I believe his birth certificate to be false. I will judge him on his decisions in government, and on the direction of America's foreign policy over the next four years. Those who are insisting on making a big deal about issues like this are doing nothing but stealing attention away from the REAL issues at hand. Ask questions about his motives, ask questions about his past, ask questions about who guides his hand! But honestly... what difference would it make if Obama wasn't American born? Do any variables that affect us change? No. Obama's loyalties lie in the same place as any politician, as he pledges allegiance to the almighty dollar.
One last thing... Barack Obama has had a United States Passport since he was a child. In order to receive an American Passport, one must show a certified copy of their birth certificate. Now I haven't seen it myself, but I'm willing to bet it lists his country of birth as the USA.
Hell, Obama should just break out the documents. His holding them back is only creating more of a controversy... Even if he had been born elsewhere, don't you think the "masterminds" of this "grand conspiracy" would have forged full length legit documents by now? Pay attention to the truly important issues at hand!
